When one thinks of Subaru one conjures up the thought of a balls-to-the-wall flyer which will blow most cars to smithereens – be it during a robot to robot dice, drag or rally event – they carry the WRX or STi badging.

Two years ago Nissan loaned my wife and I a Qashqai to use on our annual holiday to the Cape. I wrote then that the Qashqai could handle anything that you threw at it, it offered a great deal of space and the comfort levels and ride were outstanding, with a top-rate dual-zone air-conditioning system plus six speaker CD/audio system, which all added up to a splendid two weeks in the Cape.
