The latest edition of WHEELS, South Africa’s much sought-after motoring annual, is now available.
WHEELS 29 is not to be missed by any motoring enthusiast. Readers can, once again, look forward to a bumper edition covering all the news on the local and international motoring front. Crammed into the full-colour, 256 glossy pages of the publication are more than 70 articles written by well-known local motoring journalists, combined with well over 500 full colour images of motoring and motorsport. More good news is that there is a Nokia cellphone as well as a Jacques Lemans watch to be won in two readers’ competitions.
Wheels 29 presents a full-house of topics. These range from manufacturers’ milestones to technical innovation and from the latest models to concept vehicles and motorcycles. Also, read more about the glitz and glamour of international motor shows and South Africa’s Car of the Year competition. For the motorsport fan, WHEELS 29 has all the action and controversy of Formula One, the battle-of-the-throttle of local and international rallying, as well as the triumphs and misfortunes of South African off-road racing. As always, the 2009 season’s results in all the major local motorsport categories are listed.
In the foreword of WHEELS 29, Danie van Jaarsveld – chairman of the South African Guild of Motoring Journalists – writes: “Over the past twenty-nine years, the local motoring-related publishing industry has experienced unimaginable upheaval. Most of the names from that period have either disappeared or have been assimilated into large publishing conglomerates. In stark contrast, WHEELS survived and – in fact – thrived. Staying true to its original recipe, Adri and his team continued to provide beautifully and carefully crafted content, dealing with much of the South African motoring industry, every year.
“It is for these reasons that I look forward to my copy of WHEELS with undiminished enthusiasm every year, for the enjoyment and the inspiration that excellence brings and the contentment that goes with a job well done.”
