That wonderful prize came the way of Beverley Roets of Southport, who had been taken for a drive by Thompson Motors (in Port Shepstone) sales executive Danny O'Dea.
Beverley knew about her prize last year, but was thrilled to meet Craig Hughes (Nissan South Africa's regional manager sales and after sales) at the Thompson Motors showroom.
He made the trip to the coast to officially present Beverley with her cheque. In addition, Danny was presented with a cheque for R6000 for his efforts in promoting the Nissan campaign.
As mentioned in the article last year, Beverley will be using the windfall on a trip to Australia for a family wedding.

4 January 2016:
A drive in the Nissan Almera will take a Southport woman a lot further than she planned.
Time for a holiday: Thompson Motors sales executive Danny O'Dea and prize winner Beverley Roets celebrate her big win.
SOMETIMES, being taken for a ride can be a good thing. A very good thing. Ask Beverley Roets of Southport. She’ll tell you.
She was one of the numerous people Thompson Motors sales executive Danny O’Dea took for a test-drive in the Nissan Almera.
This formed part of Nissan’s campaign to promote the Almera, which is ‘Think Almera, Think Convenience, Think Safety, Think Value, Think Space’.
A lucky winner would be given R50 000 towards the holiday of their choice. As luck would have it, that wonderful prize came the way of a South Coaster.
When Beverley was phoned and told about her prize, she simply did not believe it. “I thought it was a scam, there are so many of them these days. I thought I was being taken for a ride,” she said.
Ironically perhaps, that’s exactly what happened. Beverley took a ride in the Nissan Almera, with Danny.
It was a nationwide promotion to increase awareness and sales of this vehicle.
Sales executives across the country were encouraged to take potential customers for a test-drive.
So the odds on someone on the coast winning were slim.
Thompson Motors sales manager Yvonne Lawlor was on hand to congratulate Beverley. “We are very happy a South Coaster has won the prize. Delighted, in fact,” she said.
“I’m still pinching myself,” said Beverley, who will be using the windfall towards a trip to Perth, Australia in 2016. Her partner Colin Hall’s son Michael (better known as Dizzy) is getting married in March.
“It doesn’t seem real. It’s still all sinking in. The March date will give us some time to get our visas and passports sorted out,” she said excitedly.
