A new cat from Jag - Jaguar F-Type

WHEN Jaguar launched its new F-Type a few months ago, its alluring looks and monstrous purr got people talking.

The unveiling of the new F-Type Coupé has resurrected the excitement. As the most dynamically capable performance-focused production Jaguar ever, the model line-up is spearheaded by the F-Type R Coupé with its 404kW/680Nm 5.0-litre V8 supercharged engine. This enables acceleration from zero to 100km/h of 4.0 seconds on to a top speed of 300km/h (limited). This big cat promises to get your own heart purring.

The all-aluminium F-Type Coupé embodies the uncompromised design vision of the award-winning C-X16 concept that debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The 250kW F-Type Coupé and 279kW F-Type S Coupé models complete the range and are powered by Jaguar’s 3.0-litre supercharged V6 engine. These models will accelerate to 100km/h in 5.1 seconds and 4.8 seconds, respectively, with top speeds of 259km/h and 275km/h.

All engines drive the rear wheels through an eight-speed Quickshift transmission with full manual sequential control via steering-wheel-mounted paddles or the central SportShift lever.

The F-Type Coupé has up to 407 litres of boot space - easily accommodating two sets of golf clubs - with the tailgate being available with power-assisted operation.
The F-Type Coupé range complements the existing award-winning F-Type Convertible - which won the 2013 World Car Design of the Year award - model line-up of the F-Type, F-Type S and F-Type V8 S.
