Nissan designed this all-new model with three key elements in mind: large exterior dimensions, a spacious interior and a big boot. At first glance it seems that Nissan succeeded, as all the claimed figures relevant to the above-mentioned are quite impressive.
On the outside, it looks a lot like a revamped Tiida than a new Almera, but we suspect styling won’t be a big selling point for this car. Prospective customers will rather be blown away by the amount of cubby holes and cup holders. Nissan also claims a class-leading 490 litres of luggage space.
The Almera is only available in one model grade, which includes a host of standard features designed to comfort the driver and passengers.
It’s powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine with 73kW and 134Nm on tap. Nissan claims a fuel consumption of 6.3 litres/100km and Co2 emissions of 149g/km.
A test model will be delivered to our offices shortly, so tune in again next week for a full report on the all-new Almera.
