Aussie dealer sells brand new Honda S2000 eight years after production ended

A number of eyebrows were raised when the November new Australian vehicle sales figures revealed that Honda had moved a single unit of its S2000, despite it having gone of production eight years ago.

Aussie online platform CarAdvice reports that a buyer in the state of New South Wales managed to convince an unnamed dealer to part company with the high-revving sportscar, which had reportedly been preserved for undisclosed reasons after sales came to an end nearly a decade ago.

No pricing details were mentioned although given the S2000's AU$73 590 (R745 180) sticker price in 2008, we can only assume it went for a lot more.

Powered by a normally aspirated 2.0-litre V-TEC engine developing 177 kW at a dizzying 8 300 rpm and 208 N.m of torque, the now iconic S2000 was capable of dispatching the 0-100 km/h sprint in just over six seconds before topping out at 240 km/h.
