Blaze starts Super GP 2016 on a good note

Local rider, Blaze Baker juggled matric while clinching podiums all over the country in 2015.

Juggling matric and carving a name for yourself on the racetrack is no easy feat, but local rider, Blaze Baker, managed to finish his high school career at Westville Boys High while clinching podiums all over the country in 2015.

His highlight was finishing the last race of the season on home ground at Dezzi Raceway in second position and clinching a fourth overall in the 2015 Super600 class of the Super GP Championship.

2016 sees Blaze on a new bike and with a new team. He will be riding for Uncle Andy Racing (UAR) on a Suzuki GSX-R600. His first race for the season at Red Star Raceway in Mpumalanga had its fair share of teething problems but Blaze finished third in both races.

This is the first time in many years that Suzuki has been on the podium in the Super600 Class. Blaze was ecstatic with this result for his team so soon after getting the good news that he had passed his Matric with results that were pleasing to his mom and dad.

Blaze is looking forward to the next round of the SuperGP championship at Phakisa Raceway on 12 March 2016.
