Don't miss X-Track Racing Series

Saturday is the ideal time to get the family out of the house to have some fun at the KZN leg of the 4x4 X-Track Racing Series 2016 being held at Highstakes, Cato Ridge.

From 9am to 5pm spectators will get the opportunity to mingle with the drivers who will be facing different time trial and obstacles in their special 4x4 vehicles.

There will be plenty of excitement, refreshments and food on sale plus the atmosphere will be tense as the drivers try avoid having points subtracted while they navigate through impossible routes.

Here are some basic rules for spectators to better understand what they are watching.

Time trial:

This is completed only once by each competitor, normally at the start of the day. The objective is to get around the time trial coarse with the quickest time.

Normal obstacles:

Vehicles start with 60 points and have to navigate through a pegged route. For each peg touched 20 points are lost and for every rollback/ reverse 10 points will be lost.

Progressive obstacles:

Vehicles Start with zero points and have to navigate through a near impossible pegged route. The further you get through the obstacle the more points you get. Only one rollback/ reverse is allowed per progressive obstacle. Any outside assistance, be it help from a spectator in disqualification for that obstacle. If the vehicle rolls over and is unable to continue, it means zero for that obstacle.
