ECOTY finalists named


Awarded annually since 1964, the finalists for the 2018 European Car of the Year (ECOTY) title have been revealed, with the winner due to be announced on the eve of the Geneva Motor Show in March next year.

Scooped-up this year by the Peugeot 3008 and last year by the Opel Astra, the list of 37 new models launched in Europe during 2017 have been whittled down to seven, with the final evaluation by the 60 member jury team set to take place over the coming weeks and months.

The seven contenders are:

  • Alfa Romeo Stelvio
  • Audi A8
  • BMW 5-series
  • Citroen C3 Aircross
  • Kia Stinger
  • Seat Ibiza
  • Volvo XC40
