The basic exterior shape stays the same, but a few subtle changes play their part in making the car look more aggressive than the one it replaces. The new grille is forceful, while the redesigned clear headlamps add a touch of elegance to the mix.
The 2013 RCZ will be offered in two guises: a 1.6-litre turbocharged four cylinder with 147kW on tap, mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and a 115kW version of the same engine mated to a six-speed automatic shifter. Front-wheel-drive remains standard.
As before, the RCZ Coupé provides a comprehensive array of advanced safety features, ranging from latest-generation stability and traction controls to the newest ABS brakes, an active rear spoiler as well as front and chest/pelvis airbags for the both occupants.
On the inside, the new RCZ retains all the standard features of the previous model, but with the addition of some subtle touches meant to move the cabin in an upmarket direction. A gloss lacquer finish is now employed for the gear-lever surround while leather trim is added to the door panels. Aluminium accents have also been added.
A new infotainment system in the centre console integrates latest-generation satellite navigation, multi-source audio and Bluetooth connectivity, including mobile-phone pairing and BT audio streaming.
The navigation offers a perspective view and incorporates speed-restriction indicators for main routes, while the single-disc CD player is MP3 compatible. USB, iPod and analogue auxiliary audio inputs are provided.
Pricing includes a 3-year/100 000km warranty as well Peugeot’s Premium Plan, a full maintenance plan valid for 5-years/100 000km. Services are at 20 000km intervals.
