Fiat bakkie to arrive in SA in 2016 - Fiat Fullback

FRESH from the 2015 Dubai Motor Show, Fiat has informed us that they will be introducing a Mitsubishi-based bakkie into our market. It will be called the Fullback and it is Fiat’s introduction into the highly competitive bakkie segment.

We have details here:

The Fullback will be available in South Africa from the third quarter of 2016 and will be available in both single and double-cab derivatives. Customers will be able to choose between either a 2.4-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine, rated at 97kW, or a 2.5-litre turbo diesel, with either 100kW or 131kW. All three variants will be mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

The single cab model is said to have a 2 265mm long load-bed and is reported to handle a pay-load of 1 100kg. The double-cab model features a slightly shorter load-bed - 745mm shorter, to be exact.

Fiat will release further details closer to the time of launch and we will keep you posted on this.
