Ford to roll out SYNC 3 with navigation from April


Ford South Africa has confirmed that its much vaunted SYNC 3 infotainment system will gain satellite navigation in at least seven model ranges over the next 14 months.

Originally launched late year as a replacement for SYNC 2, the latest iteration of SYNC 3 consist of a fully embedded navigation system displayed on a eight-inch touchscreen display, with new touches as clearer icons and real-world voice commands.

As well as featuring a Google-like 3D display, the system also boasts mapping for 20 African countries totalling 3.6-million km, Tracks4Afrcia, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. SYNC 3 will debut from next month first in the Ranger and Everest, followed by the Focus.
