Four-door Mercedes-AMG super saloon debuts in concept form

Teased in a single image on Monday, less than 24 hours before debuting at the Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes-AMG officially unveiled its four-door GT4 concept albeit minus the "4" suffix.

Although only expected to reach production next year, the GT introduces Mercedes' Formula One derived EQ+ Power designation for the first time, which, in the case of the GT, combines a lightweight modular battery pack with the regular coupe's 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 for a total system output of 600 kW.

Claimed to reach 100 km/h from standstill in under three seconds, the striking GT features a development of the same 4Matic+ system used in the E63 S 4Matic+, supported by an electric motor that drives the rear wheels directly and boast Torque Vectoring for an even distribution.
