Honda introduces the new Executive Ballade model

YESTERDAY we brought you Justin’s impression of the updated Toyota Corolla and today, we have news that Honda has introduced a new, updated model… the Honda Ballade Executive. The Ballade, like the Corolla, has been an old favourite amongst motorists over its many years of production. Honda has introduced this new model due to customer demands, which increases its appeal to potential customers as well.

Honda aims to elevate the Ballade nameplate to new heights as far as standard features and comfort levels are concerned with this new model.

The new Executive version follows on customer demands for an even higher-specced model than the Elegance variant. The Executive model now adds several new features to the Elegance’s already extensive features list.

Most notable from the outside are the 16-inch alloy wheels, shod with 185/55 R16 tyres, which immediately distinguish the new Executive model.

In addition, the exterior mirrors now feature integrated indicators for added visibility, while chromed door handles underline the car’s enhanced appearance. The Ballade Executive also gets full leather upholstery, while the steering wheel is now adjustable for reach and height. A multifunction steering wheel allows convenient use of the cruise control, as well as the Bluetooth and audio functions, while a seven-inch touchscreen display offers access to the car’s infotainment system.

The Ballade features the compact exterior dimensions typical of a B-segment sedan, but employs the extended wheelbase more typical of a C-segment model. The result is ample interior space, and a luggage compartment with an impressive 510 litres of cargo space.

Under the skin, the new Executive version employs the same advanced technologies and innovations as the other models in the Ballade range. These include Honda’s 1.5-litre i-VTEC four-cylinder engine with reduced internal friction and weight reduction. Honda engineers have also improved the CVT gearbox making it more fuel efficient. As in the midrange Elegance version, the CVT model is equipped with steering column-mounted shift paddles.

The new Honda Ballade 1.5 Executive is available through all authorised Honda automotive dealers countrywide. The pricing includes a three-year/100 000km warranty, a four-year/60 000km service plan, and one-year roadside assistance. Recommended retail prices for the six-model range are:
