Honda release budget beating CB125F

We remember our High School days, with little 125cc motorbikes getting us from place to place on the sniff of an oily rag. It is great to see how the 125cc segment has evolved, providing youngsters with a far more palatable way to start their independence.

Honda has always produced great small bikes and it claims to have another winner with the CB125F.Many of you would remember the CB125, well this “F” version takes many of the features seen on that bike put provides the user with a  more stylish package. It now looks a lot more like its CB500F and CB650F siblings, which is a good thing.

The little 7.8kW/10.2Nm motor is a fuel-injected single-cylinder developed to deliver strong low and mid-range torque with crisp throttle response. Honda claim a consumption figure of 60KM/L so with a 13 litre fuel tank expect a range of 780km on a single tank of fuel.

It features an all-new steel frame, revised 18-inch (from 17-inch) wheels and telescopic forks with twin rear shocks. The new model also gets a newly designed compact instrument which includes the addition of a centrally-placed gear position indicator.

The CB125F will be available in four colours:

  • Pearl Twinkle Yellow
  • Onyx Blue Metallic
  • Pearl Sunbeam White
  • Candy Blazing Red

Price: R35 000

Looks stunning! Fairly hefty price tag for a 125cc.

We agree Gareth, these entry-level bikes are not quite as affordable as they used to be.
