Honda’s VFR800F better than ever

The VRF800 has been around for a while; its engine configuration being its hallmark, that raspy V4 wail is reminiscent of its MotoGP siblings that do battle each year for the title. Now, there’s a new VFR800F that has been designed to retain and expand the essential VFR qualities and add modern features and technologies to the package.

Revised motor

The 782cc V4-VTEC engine has been fettled with to produces better bottom and mid-range power have been boosted, while the VTEC transition has been softened and Honda’s TCS (Traction Control System) added. The motor produces 77.9kW/75.1Nm.

With fuel economy of 5.1 litres/100km and a 21.5-litre fuel tank, the new bike provides a range of over 380km.

Weight loss

The new bike is also some 7kg lighter (now with a kerb weight of 242kg) thanks to weight saving features such as a single exhaust muffler has replaced the dual under-seat design as well as a revised die-cast aluminium subframe.

Handling and brakes

Handling and stopping power is sure to be better with a Pro-Arm single-sided swingarm, 43mm telescopic fork, radial-mount four-piston front brake calipers and a VFR twin-spar aluminium beam frame. The seat height is adjustable by 20mm while ABS is fitted as standard.

Toned physique

The new bike is considerably slimmer in the middle than the previous model which makes for a sleeker silhouette and sharper design queues.

Warranty and assistance

The VFR800F comes with a complimentary Rider Training course through the Honda Academy, 12 Months Free Roadside Assistance and a 24 Month unlimited km warranty.
