Honda shows its new bakkie - the Ridgeline

THE world’s motoring attention is currently on the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, which runs from the 11th to the 24th January 2016.

One of the lesser flashy models on display but still very interesting is Honda's latest take on the light pickup, the Ridgeline, as Honda calls it. This is big news for South Africans because we love our bakkies.

It's not the Japanese automaker's first foray into the bakkie market; this specific model is actually a second generation vehicle. The new Honda Ridgeline has a maximum payload capacity of 725kg and is fitted with a 3.5-litre V6 engine, which is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. Apart from that powerful engine, it also sports an intelligent all-wheel-drive system.

To Honda, we have this to say: “Bring it to South Africa because we want it!”
