Increase in petrol price this June [UPDATE]

02.06.2015

Motorists should prepare for a 47 cent increase per litre in the petrol price which will take effect on Wednesday the 2nd of June 2015. The price of diesel will go up by 49 cents per litre for 50ppm and 46 cents per litre for 500ppm respectively.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

THE Automobile Association of SA (AA) announced that the petrol price will increase from between 48 to 52 cents per litre in June and diesel, between 52 to 56 cents per litre. Illuminating paraffin will increase by 50 cents per litre.

This can be attributed to the increase in international petroleum prices. Although the Rand/US Dollar exchange rate has been relatively stable, a substantial appreciation would be needed to maintain the current fuel price.
