The Eau Rouge is based on the brand’s Q50 sports sedan and is said to show the potential for a performance vehicle within the model line-up. The design is focused on optimal aerodynamics and draws technical inspiration from the Infiniti Red Bull Formula One racing team.
The model’s performance pretentions are evident with a front splitter, rear diffuser, side-sill skirts and roof and door mirror casings all made of carbon fibre. There are also large 21-inch wheels as well as a dual-exit exhaust system to add sporting character to the package. The concept is lower and wider than the car on which it is based and only shares roof and door profiles with its Q50 sibling.
The Eau Rouge’s unveiling is taking quite a unique twist, with Infiniti encouraging the participation of its fans in its social media drive. Web fans may use sites such as Twitter (#F1Q50) and Facebook to voice their views on the concept ahead of its launch. As users ‘share’ their information and comments through the social networks, the vehicle will be digitally constructed. This means that fans technically build the vehicle through collective participation.
