Jaguar introduces more R’ness with the XF R-Sport

WITH British manufacturer Jaguar taking the fight to the Germans, yet again, and specifically BMW, it was inevitable that they followed the same battlefield tactics.

At the top of the BMW 3 Series range we find the 335i but if you spend more of your Rands you can opt for the M335i, a sportier version complete with big wheels and many go-faster bits. BMW call this the M Performance package. Now Jaguar has decided to give its customers the same sort of sporty exclusivity on its XF model with what they’re calling, the ‘R-Sport.’

The “R” bloodline runs deep through the British brand with models such as the XFR and the even loonier XFR-S. Jaguar’s new R-Sport badge extends the brand’s performance DNA through to the XF which is the first model to receive this sportier look and feel.

The ‘R-Sport’ is a combination of cutting edge technology, handling and intelligent performance, which allows drivers to benefit from Jaguar’s strong racing heritage with seductive styling and luxury features.

The XF R-Sport boasts a number of exterior cosmetic upgrades which, in our opinion, give it more road presence. These upgrades include a rear boot lid spoiler, sport bumpers and R-style side sills. Rounding off the sportier exterior is a set of 18-inch Lyra wheels.

Buyers can also specify the XF R-Sport with the optional Black Pack, which includes gloss black surrounds for the windows and boot lid finishes, along with a black grille set inside a black chrome surround, for an even sportier more aggressive look.

The XF R-Sport is equipped with Jaguar’s 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol engine, expecting 250kW and 450Nm. So the new XF R-Sport offers drivers performance and driving enjoyment to match its looks.

Inside the R’ness continues with an R-badged steering wheel and stainless steel pedals. The charcoal-on-charcoal interior features seats finished in suede cloth with dove contrast-stitching, or optional red or tan contrast stitching. An optional Sports Interior Pack adds heated, 18X18-way front sport seats, with two memory settings for the driver.

The XF R-Sport 3.0-litre V6 Supercharged is available to order at dealerships, with pricing starting at R777 430.
