Jaguar to showcase its roar at hill climb festival

JAGUAR promises to get spectators’ blood pumping with a thrilling line-up of events and cars at arguably South Africa’s most iconic motorsport event.

Officially the fastest car in South Africa, the Jaguar F-Type R Coupé will be a star at the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb, alongside a live-sized Bloodhound Supersonic Car, the fastest car in the world.

Joining the Bloodhound project as innovation partner, Jaguar will exhibit a cutaway model of the 7.5 tonne, 135 000 horsepower rocket on wheels capable of reaching speeds in excess of 1 600km/h.

Participants will get the rare opportunity to experience the thrills of the Bloodhound themselves, without the real dangers involved in such a mammoth project. The Bloodhound Driving Experience is a state-of-the-art computer simulation programme that puts the participant in the virtual hot-seat of controlling more power than the South African government.

Spectators will also be treated to nail-biting, hill-conquering action, car exhibitions at the Knysna waterfront and even a charity Golf Day.

The 2015 Jaguar Simola Hillclimb will take place between the 14th and 17th May in Knysna.

Tickets are R80 per person, per day for adults and R50 per child (three to 11 years old). Pit access tickets are R100 per person.
