The word ‘super’ refers to the additional capacity of this model over the outgoing 1190 model. The Austrian bike manufacturer has aimed this new model at the pinnacle of the luxury sport touring category.
The bigger engine capacity increases power and torque while the large fuel tank will mean longer durations before the need to stop.
The Super Adventure will feature the same electronic gadgets as the 1190 such as the Motorcycle Stability Control (MSC) system. This system was developed in association with KTM’s technical partner, Bosch and comprises ABS and traction control systems, which also have a range of selectable presets. In addition, the 1290 is said to feature unique electronically supported riding assistance equipment.
More details will be announced when the Super Adventure is officially launched at the Intermot Show in Cologne, Germany, on 30th of September.
