Posted by Spanish website autodato.com, the leaks appear in line with the drawings released by Kia on June 8th, and sees the Stonic adopting the same Tiger Nose front facia as the Rio, with the only differences being the dropping of the shaved door handles and a less prominent LED strip integrated into the headlights.
Expected to use the same underpinnings as the recently launched Hyundai Kona, the Stonic also differs from its distinctively styled sibling inside with a more traditional layout again borrowed from the Rio, although both models will be offered with a range of customisation options to suite buyer preference.
Engine options have remained under wraps so far, although it is expected that the Stonic will feature the same range of petrol and diesel powerunits as the Kona, with transmissions consisting of a five-speed manual, six-speed manual and seven-speed DCT.
More details are likely to emerge in the coming weeks before its Frankfurt debut.
