Kia offers more TEC and more value with Sportage

15.06.2015

WE, HERE at Autodealer, really do like the Kia Sportage. It looks great and offers customers a comfortable SUV, able to deal with the big city as well as the outdoors. We aren’t the only ones who like it as the growing number of these cars on our roads is evidence that customers like them, as well. In light of this, Kia has enhanced the Sportage with more features and more value for 2015.

Kia first introduced the Sportage back in 1993 when it sold the model across the globe until 2004. The second-generation Sportage was introduced in 2005 and it immediately caught the eye of interested buyers. It went on to become a bestseller for Kia with more than 860 000 units being sold over six years.

For 2015, KIia SA is adding two new Sportage TEC derivatives to the line-up. These derivatives follow on from the mild enhancements that were made to the interior and exterior of the car, back in February 2014.

These two derivatives not only add more style to an already superior compact SUV offering, but also take the Sportage’s inherent high value proposition even higher. The two new derivatives have been based on the extremely popular Sportage 2.0 CRDi automatic, the new Sportage TEC will be available in front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configuration and will incorporate even more high-tech features.

Setting the two TEC models apart from the rest of the Sportage range are unique 18-inch alloy wheels and full LED taillight clusters. The look is further complemented by privacy glass and a subtle TEC badge also embellishes the tailgate of both models. A one-touch panoramic sun roof that - until now - has only been available as an option on the diesel AWD model, is now standard on both the Sportage TEC 2WD and the Sportage TEC AWD.

Interior comfort on both models is enhanced by the addition of ventilated and heated seats for the driver and front passenger; the latter function arriving just in time for those cold winter mornings. The Sportage 2WD TEC also gains Xenon headlights, a Smart Key with Start/Stop button and a Supervision TFT LCD display (already included in the Sportage TEC AWD model).

Kia’s R2.0 turbo diesel engine, which benefits from 130kW of power and 392Nm of torque, powers these new TEC models.

The new Sportage 2.0 CRDi 2WD TEC is priced at R427 995, with the AWD TEC priced at R462 995. All models come standard with a five-year /150 000km warranty, a five-year /100 000km service plan and a three-year, unlimited mileage roadside assistance plan.
