Does this sound familiar? It should, because this is the same recipe that BMW have used with notable success in the outgoing M3.
With the new turbocharged six-cylinder and M3 saloon and M4 coupé’s arrival imminent, Lexus has released another vehicle that is aimed squarely at BMW’s motorsport division. The Lexus RC F coupé features a 5.0-litre V8 motor that produces a claimed 330kW. This makes the new model the most powerful V8 vehicle Lexus has ever produced.
The RC F takes design queues from the LFA supercar, such as the active rear wing that deploys from the rear at speeds in excess of 80 km/h.The interior receives a new instrument panel with a switchable central dial, which changes according to the four selectable driving modes - the information, colour of the display and size of text all alter. There is also an elliptical cross-section thick-grip steering wheel complete with paddle shifts.
The new coupé is set to debut at this week’s North American International Auto Show after the RC coupéthat was revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show in November last year.
