Masked Mercedes-Benz GLB spied again

Expected to make its world debut later this year before heading to market in 2019, more spy shots have emerged of Mercedes-Benz's new GLB compact crossover.

Snapped by in Germany, the prototype still wears heavy masking and makes extensive use of pre-production body panels, which, like the model spotted previously, portrays an appearance similar  to the discontinued GLK rather than the GLC.

Although said to feature styling cues derived from the new G-class, the GLB will ride on the same MFA2 front-wheel drive platform as the new A-class and Concept A sedan, with power coming from an assortment of petrol and diesel engines co-developed with the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. A mild-hybrid and electric model, the latter under Benz's EQ sub-brand, will reportedly also join the line-up at some stage.

While no interior images have yet been seen, expect the GLB's to mirror that of the A-class and feature the dual 10.25-inch infotainment and instrument cluster displays as an option, as well as an assortment of driver assistance systems.
