Merc introduces limited Edition C

MERCEDES-BENZ is introducing a limited-edition variant of the popular C-Class. The Edition C will likely be the last version of the current C-Class, as an all-new model will be making its debut in 2014.

The Edition C upgrade is available on the sedan, estate and coupé models. The styling updates include an exclusive radiator grille with high-gloss black inserts and chrome trim flanked by darkened headlamps. Further standout features include chromed tailpipe trims and an Edition C badge on the wing.

On the inside, the Edition C has sports seats trimmed in Artico man-made leather with contrasting stitching in blue and Alpaca Grey. This stitching is also found on the gear lever and door panels. Other interior enhancements include a three-spoke steering wheel in Nappa leather.

The Edition C is only available in the C300. Its petrol 3.5-litre V6 delivers a power output of 185kW and 340Nm of torque. The C300 accelerates to 100km/h in 6.9 seconds and its top speed is limited to 250km/h.

The Mercedes-Benz C300 Edition C sedan will retail for R499 443, excluding emissions tax of R6 669. As with all Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, the 6-year/100 000km PremiumDrive maintenance package is standard.
