Mercedes-Benz boss poses with prototype A-class in new teaser

Mercedes-Benz has released a teaser image of its new A-class reportedly set to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, with a few snaps also featuring Daimler Chairman and Mercedes-Benz Head, Dieter Zetsche.

Posted on LinkedIn with one image showing Zetsche taking a selfie next to the still heavily camouflaged prototype, the all-new fourth generation A-class, known internally as W177, will make use of Mercedes-Benz's MFA2 architecture, expected to underpin its next generation of small cars including the G-class-inspired GLB and replacement for the CLA previewed by the Concept A Sedan shown in Shanghai last month.

While noticeably longer and wider than the outgoing W176, it is rumoured that the W177 will be lighter or match its successor's overall weight, while no word on engine or transmissions have yet been made.
