Mercedes-Benz confirms E-class cabriolet for Geneva premiere

Mercedes-Benz has released single image of its new E-class cabriolet set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

Only shown as a silhouette while parked in front of the existing E-class range, consisting of the sedan, estate, coupe and All-Terrain, the soft-top will ride on same MRA platform as its sedan sibling albeit strengthened, and use the same range of petrol and turbodiesel engines with an AMG model likely to join later.

As with the regular E, the cabrio will have the option of rear or 4Matic all-wheel drive with the only transmission likely being Benz's 9G-Tronic automatic. It remains unknown whether the E-class cabriolet will be available locally when sales commence later this year.
