Small, practical and fast are all things the S3 has under its belt. However, it is time for a refresh and we have details on the latest Audi S3.
The Audi S3 now features new driver assistance systems and engines as well as newly designed headlights and taillights. The changes now bring it more in line with the latest A4.
Also new on board is Audi’s innovative operating and display system, Audi virtual cockpit, as seen on the Audi TT and A4.
What's more is that cell phones with iOS and Android operating systems are connected with the car via the Audi smartphone interface. The Audi phone box in the centre arm rest utilizes near-field coupling to link smartphones wirelessly to the vehicle's antenna and enables inductive charging.
The new A3 is available in a three-door version and as a Sportback, a sedan and a Cabriolet. The sporty Audi S3 version comes with numerous innovations and has even further enhanced its dynamic potential.
As for the all-important performance factor, well, the new S3 will feature a tuned version of the already impressive 2.0 TFSI. Power is now up to 228kW and with S tronic delivers 400Nm. The S3 Sportback, the S3 Sedan and the S3 Cabriolet also profit from the extensive new features.
We are unclear whether or not Audi South Africa might decrease the power due to our hot climate. Even if they do, the S3 will remain a performance favourite with not only us, but many performance junkies out there.
