New Mégane Sporting a new face

Renault SA has given us petrol heads the first sample of the new Mégane Sport in the form of the LUX 265 variant, the more toned down, comfortable RS model.

The new model gets the new Renault family face with the revised grille and enlarged Renault logo centrepiece. The front bumper also features the familiar F1-styled blade insert in the front bumper and daytime running LED integrated into the lower segment.

An important piece of information to note is that the LUX model will for the first time ever be available in the gorgeous Sirius Yellow, a R20 000 optional extra mind.

The rear retains the centre-mounted exhaust with chrome detailed tailpiece integrated into the diffuser. This LUX model gets 18-inch anthracite grey RS alloys too.

The interior is very much the same as before with sporty RS accents, comfy sports seats, satellite navigation, cruise control and full infotainment system that includes Bluetooth.

Its engine remains the same 2.0 litre 16-valve, F4RT unit with 195kW/360Nm which makes it good for a 0-100km/h sprint of 6.0 seconds and a top speed of 250km/h.

The new Mégane Renault Sport 265 2.0 Turbo LUX comes with a 5-year/150 000km mechanical warranty plan and a 5-year/90 000km service plan.
