New Toyota Auris headed our way

Toyota will debut the Auris with its fresh exterior and interior designs at next month's Geneva Motor Show.

The hatch will be shown alongside the Touring Sports wagon (not available locally) and in addition to the fresh styling, features and an upgraded cabin they will also showcase new comfort and safety features. Toyota says that the Auris is designed to show off. From front to back we find a more aggressive looking grille and side lines that run sinuously along the whole vehicle. An attractively designed rear is rounded off with sporty-styled tail lights.

The hybrid remains at the heart of the range, having established itself as the flagship powertrain in the line-up, and accounting for around half of all Auris sales in Europe in 2014 – the XR 1.6-litre petrol model is the volume seller locally.

The simultaneous reveal of new Auris and Avensis (not destined for SA launch) follows on from last year’s introduction of Aygo and Yaris to complete a full rejuvenation of Toyota’s core passenger model range.

This new model will arrive on our shores later this year so be sure to keep an eye on our Twitter feed, @Autodealersa or like our page on Facebook, for more updates.
