Next gen Aston Martin Vantage spied pounding the 'Ring

Aston Martin's replacement for the now 12 year old V8 Vantage has been spied undergoing testing at Nürburgring ahead of its expected launch next year.

Although resembling a DB11 with layers of camouflage, Britain's Autocar magazine reports that the Vantage, which will do without the V8 prefix, will get its own bespoke look and ride on a brand new aluminium platform instead of the stalwart VH underpinning the current model.

The biggest departure from the present Vantage though will the dropping of the Jaguar-based 4.7-litre V8 for the same 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 used in the Mercedes-AMG GT, and even the DB11's also AMG derived 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 in place of the long serving normally aspirated 5.9-litre V12.

Expect more information to become known closer to the Vantage's intended unveiling.
