Opel's 2017 assault with seven new models

Opel has announced it would be debuting seven new models next year though it remains to be seen which ones will eventually arrive in South Africa.

Its biggest new model rollout since starting vehicle production in 1899, new models will include the second generation Insignia Sport Tourer and all-wheel drive Country Tourer station wagons, the coupe-like Insignia Grand Sport sedan, the Ampera-e electric car with a claimed range of 500 km, a new Vivaro van, a yet as unnamed crossover that will slot in between the Astra and Zafira, and the Crossland X compact crossover.

Recently snapped undergoing testing, the Crossland X will likely replace the Meriva in Opel's SUV line-up, although it remains to be seen whether it will slot in above or below the recently unveiled Mokka X.
