Petrol price: take the good with the bad

The Department of Energy has announced that consumers will feel some relief as it announced that the price of premium 95 unleaded fuel will decrease by 5 cents a litre, while 93 unleaded is set to increase by 2 cents a litre.

For diesel drivers there is some reprieve as both grades of diesel are set to drop by 13 cents a litre.

The updated prices will take effect October 1; the drop comes as a result of the lower oil price. The decrease could have been more significant had our Rand not performed badly against the US Dollar in the past few weeks.
