Porsche reveals new generation GTS

PORSCHE has announced that the new 911 Carrera GTS will join its Boxster GTS, Cayman GTS and Panamera GTS siblings in European showrooms, as of November 2014.

There will be four new 911 Carrera GTS models, namely, a coupé and a cabriolet available with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

The rear-mounted engine flat-six power unit, tuned to develop 316kW, an increase of 22kW over the Carrera S. This is combined with the Sport Chrono package which offers dynamic engine mounts, and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) damper system. Further distinction comes in the form of the standard sports exhaust system.

Performance has improved too with Porsche PDK double-clutch gearbox-equipped models going from 0-100 km/h in 4.0 seconds with a top speed of 318km/h.

All versions feature the 911 Carrera 4 body with wide-flared rear-wheel arches and a wider track. Also standard are 20-inch alloy wheels with centre-lock mechanism, painted in a matte black finish. There are other GTS trim elements, such as smoked bi-Xenon headlights with the addition of the Porsche dynamic lighting system and black chrome-plated exhaust tailpipes, add to the strong visual identity.

The driver and front passenger seats are covered in Alcantara with leather-trimmed sport seats. The centre seat panels are also finished in Alcantara, as on the other Porsche GTS models.

Other standard features include Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with rear limited slip differential, 7-inch colour touch-screen Porsche Communication Management with satellite navigation, digital radio, a universal audio interface, automatic climate control and Porsche Stability Management (PSM).
