Range Rover niche hunting with Evoque Convertible

THE Range Rover Evoque has been an important model for the brand; it established it as a key player in the premium compact segment and has made the brand available to a new target market. Now, we have received word from Range Rover that the convertible version of its Evoque is currently being developed.

The brand claims that its new model will be “...the world’s first luxury compact SUV convertible.”The British brand also claims that it will be the world’s most capable convertible when the going gets tough. In the video provided we see the new mode being tested and passing Land Rover’s development and testing programme.

We also see the Evoque convertible being tested at Eastnor Castle estate, in Herefordshire, UK, an area where many four-wheel Land Rover/Range Rover products have been put through their paces over the past 45 years.

“Land Rover prides itself on being a class leader when it comes to all-terrain capability and the Evoque Convertible is no different,” said Mike Cross, Land Rover Chief Engineer of Vehicle Integrity. “Thanks to a combination of innovative engineering and the application of advanced technologies, Evoque Convertible will deliver a dynamic and assured SUV experience that has been tested around the world. We call it, ‘The Convertible for all Seasons,” he added.

The car will first be shown at the Los Angeles International Auto Show in November 2015 and will go on sale in 2016. We will keep you updated with regards to local availability.
