Red Bull F1 link results in aggressive Infiniti Q60 concept

Nissan's luxury division, Infiniti, has celebrated its longstanding partnership with the Red Bull Racing Formula One team by unveiling the concept Q60 Black S.

Based on the normal Q60 coupe, the Black S is the result of a collaboration between Red Bull engine supplier and Nissan alliance member Renault, and not only features a bespoke bodykit, but a unique powertrain claimed to be "lag free".

Incorporating the standard 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6, the Black receives a F1-style separate motor generator that recovers energy ordinarily lost through braking or the exhaust, before storing and re-deploying it using a lithium-ion battery pack. According to Infiniti, this could lead to a power hike from the standard 294 kW to 373 kW, and a 0-100 km/h sprint of under five seconds.

Although still a concept, UK report suggest that the Black S could retail for around £60 000 if the decision to put it into production is made.
