Posted by the Megane RS Online page on Facebook, the slightly blacked-out side image of a white RS with its bonnet up confirms previous sightings that the latest fast Renault gets a revised rear bumper, flared door sills, Brembo brakes and unique five-spoke alloy wheels.
Inside, the RS gets red stitching on the sport seats, gear lever, seats belts and arm rest, as well as the same TFT instrument cluster as the lesser GT, albeit with a reported 6 000 rpm redline. In addition, the interior shot also reveals the RS' availability of a EDC dual-clutch gearbox for the first time, thanks to the oversized black paddle-shifters behind the wheel. A six-speed manual is however the standard gearbox option.
Engine details are still unknown though with reports suggesting the RS will use the same 1.8-litre turbocharged engine as the Alpine A110, or a brand new blown 2.0-litre four-pot. More information is expected to be revealed in the run-up to its official launch at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
