According to a report by Russian online platform vedomosti.ru, an unnamed source familiar with the project has claimed that the coupe will ride on the same B0 platform as the Dacia / Renault Duster, and slot in above the Kaptur, a Duster underpinned model also sold in India but with styling taken from the Captur.
The report further claims that the coupe will have all-wheel drive as standard, a locking centre differential, ground clearance of 204 mm and a heavy duty suspension. While no powertrain details were revealed, although in Russia, the Kaptur comes powered by a 1.6 or 2.0-litre petrol engine, with transmission choices consisting of a five or six-speed manual, a CVT and four-speed automatic.
At present, the Kaptur measures 4 333 mm in overall length with a height of 1 613 mm, wheelbase of 2 674 mm and width of 1 813 mm, making it longer, wider and taller than the Captur, with boot space rated at 387-litres or 1 200-litres with the rear seats folded flat.
