Rolls SUV snapped in the cold

Fresh spy shots have emerged of Rolls Royce's enormous Cullinan SUV undergoing winter testing.

Reportedly named after the diamond found in the town with same name in 1905, the Cullinan is expected to rival the Bentley Bentayga and will also mark Rolls-Royce's first foray into the ultra-luxury SUV segment, although the automaker has continually referred to the Cullinan as an "all-terrain, high-sided vehicle".

Only expected to debut next year using the same all-aluminium architecture as the new Phantom, the Cullinan will feature a revised suspension and a brand-new four-wheel drive system, another Rolls-Royce first, with power likely to come from either the Ghost's twin-turbo V8 or the Phantom's normally aspirated V12.

Expect more details to be revealed closer to its international launch in the second half of 2018.
