Where is it happening?
Scooby Fest 2016 takes place on 24th April. This is an anchor event on the SOCSA calendar and once again, Red Star Raceway in Delmas, some 74 kilometers from Subaru Johannesburg in Edenvale, is the host venue. Scooby Fest 2016 will bring Subaru owners together from all over Southern Africa with one simple plan: To get the most enjoyment out of their cars.
About the venue
Red Star Raceway has a host of facilities that will challenge and suit every Subaru. The four-kilometer racetrack itself is a combination of late apexes, a narrow surface, tight corners and two fairly long straights. It’s a fantastic racetrack to drive a performance car in earnest with forgiving run-offs onto the grass sections and a moderately flat gradient.
Adjacent to the racetrack is a newly built Skidpan and Drift Track that will also be open to Subaru Owners on 24th April. Here, owners can indulge in some competitive gymkhana sessions and once again experience Subaru’s signature balance and control. Prizes of course, are up for grabs.
Also available for Scooby Fest is an off-road track on which all Subaru SUV owners who fancy some 4x4 action can put their cars to the test. With a myriad sludgy mud sections, steep climbs and ruts as well as a special off-road ‘rally stage’, what more could a Subaru SUV owner want to get their hands (and car) dirty?
