Signed RS 6 sold at auction

AN UNKNOWN person in the UK has paid around R2 million for a brand-new Audi RS6 with some scribbling on the armrest. This may sound crazy, but it makes a lot more sense when you realise that the person who did the scribbling was none other than Gwyneth Paltrow.

Ms Paltrow, who drives an Audi both in character as Pepper Potts in the Iron Man action series and in real life on the roads of London and Los Angeles, put her stamp on the very first RS6 to arrive in London.

This unique model, with a personalised interior, was auctioned off at the annual Elton John White Tie and Tiara Ball. All the money raised at the auction go to support the work of the Elton John Aids Foundation. This year it made around R45 million.

"Audi is delighted to donate the unique RS6 Avant for the equally unique White Tie & Tiara Ball. We are thrilled at the benefit it will give to Sir Elton's Aids Foundation, which does such outstanding charity work, and very proud to be continued sponsors of the Ball," says Jon Zammett, head of public relations for Audi UK.
