Closely resembling the renderings released earlier this month, the latest snaps sees the Swift receiving a restyled front end highlighted by a black honeycomb grille, black bumper and door sills extensions, flared wheel arches, new alloy wheels and a slightly lowered ride height.
As per previous reports, the Sport is also expected to undercut the outgoing model in terms of weight, with a rumoured dry mass reportedly as low as 870 kg.
While unconfirmed, various reports suggest the Sport will drop the normally aspirated 1.6-litre engine for a 1.4-litre turbo derived from the European market Vitara S, lifting power from 100 kW to 103 kW and torque from 160 Nm to 220 Nm. A six-speed automatic gearbox is reportedly set to join the six-speed manual for the first time.
More details are likely to emerge in the coming months.
