The iK-2 and iM-4 made their first global unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show last month. The iK-2 is a compact car which incorporates all the elements expected in a car of this size – design, utility, comfort, manoeuvrability, driving performance and fuel efficiency – at an enhanced level. Suzuki plans to launch a production model based on the iK-2 in the near future.
The iM-4 on the other hand is a compact crossover and represents a new vehicle category for Suzuki. The iM-4 opens up new avenues for Suzuki who is considering the launch of a production model based on the iM-4.
The new Booster Jet engine is a 1.4-litre turbocharged motor is focussed on fuel efficiency through the use of direct-injection technology, while turbocharging boosts power and torque output. We are so pleased to hear that Suzuki has developed a turbocharged engine.
This compact, lightweight engine features an optimised layout as well as weight-reduction technology to meet the rigorous requirements demanded by new-generation car designs.
China will be the first market to receive the engine when Suzuki launches a model powered by the BoosterJet in that country, before expanding availability to global markets. We do hope that this new little engine arrives on our shores soon.
