TRD infused Toyota Yaris spied in Indonesia

With Toyota having only debuted the now Thai sourced Yaris and its Cross derivate in South Africa earlier this month, a sportier TRD Sportivo model has now been spied in Indonesia ahead of its rumoured debut on Tuesday (20 February).

Snapped by, the Sportivo gains a TRD bodykit made up of a pronounced rear wing, side skirts, black mirror caps, redesigned front bumper with an integrated red lip, black honeycomb grille and updated rear bumper, 16-inch alloy wheels and TRD Sportivo badges at the base of the rear doors and on the bootlid.

Like the model offered in Thailand and now of course South Africa, power is likely to come from a 1.5-litre petrol engine developing 79 kW and 140 Nm, linked to either a six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT. A smaller 1.3-litre petrol making 63 kW and 108 Nm is expected to be part of the Indonesian model line-up as well.

At present, Toyota South Africa has not made any announcement on the TRD Sportivo, but if given the green light, expect it to command a premium over the current range topping Sport's R286 000 sticker price.
