“The acronym, LIFT, stands for Light-Duty International Future Truck and this is indicative of our pioneering spirit of always moving forward for our customers and society. As we continuously refine the Canter so that it remains at the forefront of the truck industry, we ensure that we do this with all our stakeholders,” said Godfrey Hani, divisional manager, Fuso.
The new Fuso Canter Lift has already won many awards and shows no signs of stopping. Not only has it made history by being the first commercial vehicle to receive the Automotive Researchers and Journalists Conference’s Car of the Year Special Award 2013, it was also followed in Ireland by the accolade of Best Energy Efficient Product Award, being bestowed on this impressive vehicle.
The vehicle has a new 4P10 twin-camshafts engine with four valves per cylinder. It’s turbocharged and intercooled and the four-cylinder diesel engine is coupled to an advanced Duonic six-speed, dual-clutch automated manual transmission, which is the only dual-clutch transmission available in a commercial truck.
With turbo-charging, the Canter Lift has been designed to be environmental and economical, two things, which are extremely important to businesses. It has an Eco-mode which decreases fuel consumption and the Duonic six-speed dual-clutch provides a soft shift that needs no maintenance and achieves the lowest shift shock in its class. With the new Lift, Mitsubishi has also increased the service intervals to 25 000km and has a two-year unlimited kilometre warranty.
It also comes with stabilisers for the front and rear, ABS, EBD, disc brakes all-round, air conditioning, power windows and central locking to mention but a few. The new Fuso Canter Lift features roomy, fully trimmed cabs that provide ample space for the driver plus two passengers to ride in comfort and as an added extra, the gear lever sits high on the dashboard to add space to the seating area and to make it easier to get in and out.
This vehicle has definitely redefined the MCV world by doing the simplest things and making changes which matter to their customers.
