Three-pedal Golf R now available

08.09.2014

ENTHUSIASTS will be happy to hear that the Volkswagen Golf R can now be ordered with a manual transmission. Since its local launch in February 2014, the new Golf R has sold over 740 units in spite of only being available with DSG transmission.

The new Golf R is powered by a 206kW/380Nm engine. Like all previous Golf R models, the new model also transfers its turbocharged engine power to the road via a permanent all-wheel-drive system. In this case, it’s the latest version of the 4MOTION system with a fifth-generation Haldex coupling.

A newly configured sport suspension system (body height lowered by 20mm), coupled with the new progressive steering system and "ESC Sport" ensures that the dynamic driving experience is exceptional.

The Golf R with a six-speed manual transmission reaches 100km/h after just 5.2 seconds (previous model: 5.7 seconds). The car’s top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h.  Fuel consumption is down from 8.5 litres to 6.9 litres/100km compared to that of the previous model.

Prices:

2.0 TSI 206 kW Manual R485 400
2.0 TSI 206 kW DSG  R499 990

The model comes standard with a five-year/90 000km service plan, three-year/120 000km warranty and a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty.
