In an interview with autoguide.com, Vice President and General Manager for Toyota North America, Jack Hollis, stated that the FT-AC (Future Toyota - Adventure Concept) could follow the same route as the now discontinued FJ Cruiser, which made it into production thanks to positive customer feedback.
"Customer feedback was so strong, what did we do? Got the product out in about two years that looked almost identical to the product we brought out on stage. I would put FT-AC in a similar boat," Hollis said.
Based on the same TGNA platform as the C-HR and featuring an "advanced" Torque Vectoring system, the FT-AC, in production guise, will most likely slot in above RAV4 but underneath the aging 4Runner in terms of size. No engine details of the concept have been revealed with Toyota merely stating that a petrol engine is entrusted with providing forward momentum.
