Toyota Hilux's 50th anniversary celebrated early in Frankfurt

In celebration of its 50th anniversary next year, Toyota has unveiled a special edition version of the Hilux at the Frankfurt Motor Show, called the Invincible 50.

Using the name of the top spec trim offered in Europe, the Invincible 50 essentially receives a number of cosmetic tweaks made up of a special silver paint finish, Invincible 50 graphics, matte black sports bar, side steps and wheel arch extensions, silver skidplate, black bin-liner and matte black 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich all-terrain tyres.

No technical details were provided, but since Toyota does not offer the 2.8-litre GD-6 engine in Europe due to emissions regulations, expect the show vehicle to be powered by the 110 kW / 400 Nm 2.4-litre GD-6 oil burner. At present, no plant exist to put the Invincible 50 into production.
